Yeah, yeah, THOSE best friends. I admit, I’m really not a huge fan of fancy jewelry, all the shiny little (or big) objects leave me utterly unmoved (I know, I’m a “wrong sort of bee girl”). But there’s one, I repeat – ONE, jewelry designer who’s creations make my heart beat faster. They are just perfect, but in a non-symmetrical, unpredictable kind of way, these intricate metallic doodles are not too shiny, not too bright, but just right.r
Alex Sepkus, who was born in Lithuania, creates jewelry that resembles patterns in Gustav Klimt’s paintings. It seems to be made of many-many little intervening pieces that stick together to end up being a piece of art.

See how some of the rings have hidden letters/numbers in them? I LOVE that!!!!

And here are the necklaces and bracelets… What can I say? I WANT ONE!!!!! or two… or three…

And even though sources inform us that Alex doesn’t really sketch his designs but rather adds new elements right in the process metalworking, still, that wouldn’t stop me from enjoying the Alex Sepkus-style doodling. Who knows, maybe one day, I’ll get to own “the real deal”?…

Hey, Valentine’s Day is approaching… Anybody’s giving or getting something really pretty/cool/unusual?

Love your doodles! I say screw “the real deal.” Just blow those sketches way up and add some big bold screenprint colors into the shapes, and you’ve got some awesome contemporary wall art I would like as much or more than translating it to jewelry. Super Fun!

February 4, 2008 @ 11:21 amI agree, blowing up any kind of artsy stuff makes it look even cooler

May 24, 2009 @ 4:38 pmThey are very individual. It`s like an oasis in a dry world of mass production.
Thank you, Alex, for your work.
And thank you RaShell, for cretaing this page.
P.S. I like your sketches! Well done! Go ahead.
