just monkeying around…

For a person who’s barely keeping track of time and almost never wears a wristwatch, I am a big sucker for unusual wall clocks. There are just not enough walls in my house to put them all up ;)
And I keep seeing more and more of really interesting ones around the web and in stores these days.
Here are some funky glass-embedded doodles on the clocks from British Jazz It Up Interiors website.

Metallic doodles from the “Art in Motion” creative works by Joseph Ferris.

And last, but not least, a doodle-clock of my very own, which, coincidently, I’m selling on Ebay right now (you can click on the image to get to the auction)!!! Go, grab it while it lasts, if you need a cool original present for somebody or wanna indulge yourself ;) And you know what, if you mention that you saw it on Doodlage, I’ll personalize them for absolutely free!!! Interested?

Did you know that your site is linked on the wikipedia definition for a doodle? I thought that was very cool :)

As a mega doodle expert (flattery intended), I wondered if you like the idea of a doodle day?

Just realised I never actually commented on your post, how rude of me.

I have actually bought stuff from Jazz it up, they have some very cool stuff on their website.
I love your clock, but cant figure out what material you used for it?

    Hi Claire,

Thank you, thank you for all the compliments :)
I love the idea of Doodle Day, although I must tell you, apparently, there’s an official calendar day like that, for charity. It’s different dates for Britain and USA (ours is coming up on May 8th), but same idea. So, how do I “sign up”? ;)
As far as the clocks go, yeah, I love the Jazz stuff, it’s very classy, yet contemporary. And my own clock I made by gutting a cheap plain one and replacing the inside face with some scrapbooking papers, plain black paper and then I doodled on the black part with metallic markers and glued cut-out pieces of fancy oriental papers on the top. It looks really-really nice, but is very hard to photograph in the finished state (because of the glass on top).

In my hours/minutes of googling doodle day I found the charity one, so it would be nice to send some love their way. I don’t think they would mind? I could cleverly change it to ‘Blog Doodle Day’ or something like that? lol.

Not sure how to go about it yet, but would love to see what people would come up with. Especially people that say they cant doodle at all to folks like yourself that are more like the yoda’s of doodling :)
I will keep you updated on it.

Yoda here, LOL *scratching my long pointy ear* :-)

I suppose we can all “advertise” the upcoming date, maybe come up with some fun creative idea for using our doodles (t-shirts and such)
In any case, we’ll still have fun in the process.

    Keep me informed.

    RaShell… Scrapbooking? YOU? Shocking…

    RaShell Says:

Oh, pleeeaaaase. The paper is “scrapbooking”, not me. There’s no shame in using it! NONE :-p
p.s. you can see the clock at our mutual NJ friends’ house, if you visit them ;)

Do our mutual redhead NJ friends know that you’re selling THEIR clock? Shocking…

    RaShell Says:

LeO, you seem extremely impressionable today. Everything shocks you. It’s ok, nobody bought it anyways, so they can keep the clock… Until the next time ;)
But trust me, I’ve made so many of those for presents, I can practically mass produce them.

Thank, doodler, you , very wise, you are. Yeesssssss.

Heh, I found a talk like yoda generator.

I like that idea, I have just done a post on my blog so will see what interest that generates.

Thanks for putting up with my ramblings :)
