Ok, you guys, even thought today’s the first day of our self-proclaimed Doodle Week and according to the “official event program” we’re supposed to doodle ourselves, I’m so busy at work and at home that I’ll take an easy way out and introduce you to somebody else, who’s doodling I admire greatly.
Our featured doodler du jour – Jennifer Judd McGee aka Swallowfield – artist extraordinare. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such artistic and creative use of doodling in it’s original, simple form. She doodles on what looks like pages from a dictionary, botany books, plain paper, cardstock, basically – anything that would stay still and lay flat while she patiently covers it with intricate doodles in all different colors. Then, I suppose she scans it and voila – piece of art is ready to be enjoyed by us, the adoring public. The results are fun, simple (at times a bit “folksy-looking”) yet elegant, adorable collages that make you want to study the tiniest details for hours.

I miss you not being on EC still. Glad you are doing Doodle Week. I really have to get back to reading more of the blogs I was reading before I joined EC. It really takes up a lot of time and I miss the bloggers I used to keep up with every day.
