Feel free to say you’ve missed me
Mexico is truly a doodler’s paradise. Just one look around and you are inspired:

I was definitely not wasting any time over there… by the pool… in the sand… under the palm-tree-branch-covered palapas and near the bright blue ocean! Since keeping paper sand-free and most importantly - dry was a bit of a challenge, I switched to the only other medium easily available right underfoot. Ocean-washed and smoothed flat rocks of different colors and proportions. Have a look-see:

Oh I love your little rock doodles! I bet those are a great souviner; perfect for a little color out in the garden. You did bring them home with you, right?
What did you use to draw on the rocks without the ink smearing?
May 27, 2008 @ 6:41 pmThat RaShell… Whatever she touches turns into doodle gold.
May 27, 2008 @ 8:02 pmAnd, yes… I’ve missed you…
Hi LaurenMarie,
Thanks. Of course I brought them all back (probably 10 lbs of them ;)) We gave them out as souvenirs to my girls’ teachers and neighbors. I used one of my many-many black art markers (I suspect it was one of the Pilots, with a tiny marker-like tip). The stones were not THAT polished, they were just smooth enough to draw an them, but didn’t smear at all
Oh, and I colored them with gold and silver paint markers. You should try, they were fun both to look for and make.

You didn’t miss me enough to post something in my absence :-p Shame on you. We had such a great time though, that I can’t stay mad at anybody

May 28, 2008 @ 5:53 pmHi Claire,
So much for “making a fortune on Ebay” (see above ;))
May 29, 2008 @ 3:18 pmSure, I’d send one, if nothing else, purely because it’s kinda crazy/silly/cool to send Mexican rocks from US to UK
I love the rock doodlage! Seriously, you could make money outta them. *wink*
June 29, 2008 @ 10:49 pmRock doodling is a great hobby to do even at home in the states.
