Moleskin journals, sketch- and notebooks are in a league of their own. They’re a cult, an institution. Countless artists, businessmen and just simply creative people like you and I buy these overpriced black books and join the ranks of Hemingway and Picasso. Btw, Moleskine’s webpage has a special place that proudly displays pages from celebrity-owned books:

What finds it’s way into these little smooth-papered wonders, of course depends on the owner… Here’s a nice article about 20+ Ways to Use a Moleskin.
Except for the anal-retentive Super People who use them strictly as organizers with clean margins and neat handwriting, Normal Moleskiners really put their favorites to work, filling the pages side-to-side, top-to-bottom.
Some participate in “Moleskine exchange programs”, sending the books from artist to artist and exhibiting the collective results in galleries, both real and virtual.

Others are loners, who spill their inspiration onto the yellowish pages and sometimes generously show them to the admiring public. Before-mentioned Moleska is a great example.
And if in your opinion book is judged by it’s cover, and you want some extra-credit, get your Moleskin engraved! Engraveyourbook.com has designs by artists-in-residence:

or you can create your very own:

My frugal advice as usual is… get a fine metallic paint-marker and doodle away ;)
