I know, I know, the woodcutting is as un-doodling as it gets. It’s hard work, it’s definitely not mindless, it requires skill and patience. But just the same, I love the results, especially if they arrive on a Tugboat.

And I can easily see how they could, possibly, start with a scribble on a scrap of stained wrapping paper somewhere in the depths of wood-smelling print shop…
The unfortunately sold-out Penguin Tee captured my heart.

Btw, did I ever show you my own penguins? They, of course, started out as a doodle somewhere on a napkin, but alas, I lost it, so this is a “cleaned up” and “colored in” version:
