When I was about 8 years old, I did something bad…
The thing is, decent books were not all that easy to come by where I grew up. So the ones you got were treasured, bundled in protective covers and treated with utmost respect. I knew that, but I was a kid, 2nd or 3rd grade. I got an assignment in school, to make a report about any famous author. So… I did the unthinkable. I gutted a book about children’s writers and copy pasted whole biography with pictures and stuff onto self-made pages (here - graphic designer in the making). Boy, did I get in trouble for that…
So, this post is pretty much for my parents. See, mom and dad, what other people do with their old books? I’ve got to admit, my crooked creation was a far cry from these awesome specimens:

I want to thank you for posting this. I’ve got plenty of old books laying around that I wasn’t sure what to do with. Now I realize it’s just more paper waiting to be doodled on! I can’t wait to get home and start playing.

Well, you’re very welcome. Looking forward to seeing what comes out of it
September 8, 2008 @ 11:15 amMe too!
September 8, 2008 @ 3:41 pmWhoa! Those book sculptures for Su Blackwell are amazing! Reminds me of the paper creations from Peter Callesen. How in the world do they figure out how to do that? Hehe, love the title for this post.
Have you ever heard of altered books, Rashel? Those are quite something, too.
