I’ve been a little obsessed with bottles and jars lately. I doodle, I glue stuff onto them, I scan and color them in.

The idea I’m going for here, is that I, being an avid collector of all kinds of different things, would like to gather not only tangible treasures, but also the ones that are fleeting and un-materialistic. Wouldn’t it be great to have a jar full of childhood memories? Or a can of dreams? Fresh batch of happiness with a bow on top?
These three here are my favorites. I even put some of the smallest sea rocks I’ve collected this summer and glued them on:

Well, unfortunately the scientific progress is not up to that kind of thing… yet. But one can still doodle it, right? ![]()

What would YOU put in a bottle?

Are these the doodle jars that you told me about? I really like the watercolors on the last picture. Is that analog or digital?
I think I would like to collect inner peace and fun. Then whenever I need either, I could just go open my jar and inhale peace like a delicious perfume or shake out some fun like a crazy dance. Wow… am I a little poetic this morning or what? Silly me.

Yep, that’s the jars, bottles and such I was talking about (I also have about 10 more at home that I drew but didn’t “decorate” yet). No clue what to do with them after I’m done though…
September 17, 2008 @ 11:29 amWatercolors are unfortunately very digital. I am not very good with the real ones. Plus, I haven’t practiced in a really really long time.
I hope at some time, there’ll be a way to bottle smells that you really want to remember. You know… the usual sentimental stuff (baby, ocean, favorite parfume, etc.). So we can use them “as needed”
mmmm, that would be nice! There is this hotel that my work had a conference at recently and the smell in lobby was soooo relaxing. It smelled like mint, strawberries, and just all around freshness.
