just monkeying around…

… for doodles, and other things too!

Hey, this is Doodlage’s post #200!!! Now, for this happy occasion, I thought of a really great contest we can have.

Here are Three Ts for the rules and something for you to think about while I’m working on the prize list:

: With all this Hallmark-sponsored-vomit-inducing-pink-redness all around us, why don’t we create some alternative unorthodox ways to display our LOVE? So, here’s the thing, doodle, draw, scribble anything that makes you think LOVE. First thing that comes to mind, which makes your heart race faster and your sight go blurry. Use the word LOVE in your creation, or explain to us in a few words why what you drew means LOVE to you.

: Materials used, surface, even size doesn’t matter! You do have to scan or photograph your work (if it’s not digital to begin with) in decent print resolution (300dpi) and upload it to our Flickr group with a tag LOVE. You can use the description area under the image for an explanation (if needed). You can have up to 5 entries (more entries give you more chances of winning).

Time: Submissions should be posted on Flickr (or, in case you don’t have an account and refuse to get one – emailed to rashell (at) doodlage (dot) com) before February 24th (that’s how anti-oficial-valentine we are) This gives you exactly 22 days to express your feelings, we think that should be enough time.

You can use this post to notify us of your submissions if you’d like. I will be checking the Flickr group and post some here as well, as we go. Spread the word – email, post in your blogs, stumble, twit, blabber all around you, this is going to be a fun one! As far as the prizes go, to give you a sneak peak, one of the main winners will get his/her submission printed (on a totally fun and unexpected media) and shipped directly to them! And there will be more prizes, to which I will dedicate an entire post.

And speaking of LOVE and extra-un-ordinary one-of-a-kind handmade Valentines… Check out the Spread the Love sale at Doodlage.Etsy.com. Search for the word LOVE within the shop and get $5 off anything and everything that comes up. Hurry you don’t have much time left until your carriage will turn into a pumpkin (romantically speaking ;))!!!
