Well, the things on the Doodling Battlefield are certainly heating up. The screen is burning with an abundance of awesome doodles of various mediums and sizes.

The required “unconventional” doodles impress with creativity and surface choices:

Some other unusual offerings include Julia’s free screensaver download, which can be viewed and snatched by clicking on the artwork below:

Several contenders broke through the 100 barrier, and there are now 2 clear leaders, racing head to head towards the 150-doodle finale (although, quite a few still have a good chance to catch up to them!). We’ll see what happens, this is a serious Doodling sport event out there, no room for weakness. Pro-Doodlers are breathing into each others’ necks and scribble furiously towards the finish line.

Come, join the fun by looking, linking and commenting. What can I say, even witnessing such intense competition has never before been so great!

Ok, the hardest part for this post was to pick, PICK SOMETHING ALREADY!!! There’s just SO MUCH overwhelmingly talented doodling going on, I can barely keep up watching (let alone doodling myself!!!) Check out all the unconventional materials our contestants are using! From latte’s foam to green tropical leaves, it’s like nothing you’ve seen before:

This is just a tiny-tiny sampling, so don’t forget to stop by Doodle-Off “Official” Blog and check out all entries for yourself. Comment too, nothing keeps us doodling more than appreciative (as I know you are if you’re reading this ;)) audience!

Etsy Shop Textile Style (aka cricketapollo) owner hails from Chicago where she works as an editor and writer (finance and music–yes, weird combo) and indulges her love of textiles — mostly sewing and embroidering, but also stalking cool and unusual vintage fabrics.

These richly textured beauties naturally remind me of doodles! Free flowing lines, creative colors and shapes, that’s my kind of textiles!

Allrighty, the Doodle-Off competition, version 3 is officially in session. First doodles are being posted as well as some self-introductions from the participants. I will be posting weekly-roundups on Fridays from now on, but don’t be lazy, go to Doodle-Off Blog yourself, look, comment, critique, encourage, spread the word. If the first entries are of any indication, it will be a fun ride. I see some very unusual surfaces are being exploited already ;) WE ARE ON FIRE, indeed!!!

Hey, I’m back! Well, perhaps not all the way back, since I seem not to be able to get all the way into my usual routine quite yet, but physically, I’m here :)

To compensate for my long silence and lack of Wednesday Etsy finds post, here’s one of my favorite artists, Etsyians and bloggers. I give you - YELLENA.

I like pretty much everything she does. The color, the detail, the DOODLES. Enjoy :)
