This Box Doodle Project has made it’s honor rounds around the web recently, but I decided to feature it anyways, cause I like it so much. Doodling, art, recycling, cool designs, all in one… box. Or should I say ON the box? Artists from around the globe “went to town” on these boxy creations and the results are very interesting to look at. Some are 3D and others are completely flat. Some make use of the original box’s shape while others just use the surface as if it were a plain piece of paper. Makes me want to go dig out some used packaging and grab a trusty sharpie myself ![]()

The project is a “baby” of the Munich based artist and art director David Hofmann. The rules are quite simple: rearrange a box to make any kind of figure or object. Make the most of least. Anyone can participate, just doodle+photograph+send your entry in (there’s a link for entries on boxdoodle.com).

But wait, there’s more!!! You can digi-doodle on a virtual box and send in a screen shot of the results. Just use the interactive Box Doodle Tool

In any case, it’s definitely worth getting lost in this boxy creative landscape. Page after page, after page of raw creativity. Enjoy

Joyfuldia’s Doodle Art site has a HUGE collection of doodles. Most are by Dia herself, there are also guest galleries, step-by-step projects, articles, links and much-much more. Dia’s doodles are really elaborate contraptions, with tiny-tiny details and she obviously enjoys process of creating them ![]()

According to the site, Dia is currently exploring other kinds of paper crafts, but perhaps our little feature will inspire her to go back to doodling ![]()

I don’t know how she does it, but something tells me, she’s not counting stitches and following patterns. These embroidered accessories by the wonderful Etsy Seller Waterrose are… little stitched doodles on interesting, textured surfaces.

I (khm…) used to embroider back in my glory days, and it was just like doodling… I’d just let the needle do the “talking” and take the design wherever it goes. So, I hope you’ll enjoy these lovely textile gems and perhaps even get some from her shop.

Neat collaborative project by a group of awesome cartoon artists which requires active participation from the viewers. You ask for a doodle, they add it to the collage (even The King of Rock-n-Roll made an appearance
). Then you can view all the little pieces in great detail by moving the interactive loupe over the whole thing ![]()

The Great Collaborators include…
Ryan Terry
Britt Spencer
Dave Montes
… and their individual sites/portfolios/blogs certainly deserve your doodle-loving attention.

Artsyville is a bright, colorful place. Even simple everyday things look exciting in it. Words of wisdom are written in elegant playful letters and everything is colored in fun hues. Meet Mayor of Artsyville, illustrator and mixed media artist Aimee Dolich, who finds her inspiration in little stuff of life. A fleeting thought, an odd scene, a touching moment, a bizarre thing in the street, and a tough parenting day are all equally likely to find their way to her journal pages and scraps of paper. Too bad you can’t find Artsyville on the map, but you can certainly visit it on Etsy ![]()

Aimee is also keeping an awesome Artsyville blog which features those “little inspring things”, as well as cool “in progress” photos of her creative projects and ideas. I especially love the Groovy Doodle Cards:
